The Only Indexer That Verifies
What You're Actually Downloading
TorrentClaw scans real files with TrueSpec — not just filenames. Add it to Prowlarr in 2 minutes and let Sonarr pick verified, quality-scored releases automatically.
Setup Guide
Add TorrentClaw to Prowlarr as a Generic Torznab indexer.
Get your API key
Create a free account on TorrentClaw and generate an API key from your profile. Free keys work with Prowlarr, Sonarr and Radarr right away.
Create account & get API key →Add to Prowlarr
In Prowlarr, go to Indexers → Add → Generic Torznab. Paste the URL and your API key.
Torznab URL

API Path
Leave empty (or use the default)
Common mistake — API Path
The Torznab URL above is already the full endpoint. If your client (Prowlarr / AIOStreams / Jackett) has a separate "API Path" field, leave it empty. Setting it to /api makes requests hit /api/v1/torznab/api and return 403 Forbidden. (We accept that path as a fallback, but empty is the canonical config.)

Add the Custom Format (recommended)
Import one Custom Format per app and give it a moderate score, so TrueSpec-verified releases are preferred. Optional, but recommended.
Custom Format for Sonarr / Radarr
One format that matches the Internal indexer flag. TorrentClaw sets it only on releases whose real file TrueSpec has verified.

Matches the Internal indexer flag.

}Suggested score: +100. It is a preference, not a hard rule. Import it in Settings → Custom Formats, one per app: the flag number differs between Sonarr and Radarr.
Why a flag and not a tag in the title?
Sonarr and Radarr score the imported file from its own name and from the indexer flags saved when it was grabbed, never from the title the indexer returned. A tag in the title scores +N in the search and 0 on disk, so the same release gets downloaded again and again. The flag survives the import.
Releases whose real resolution is lower than their name claims are left out of the results by default. Add &mismatch=1 to the Torznab URL to include them.
Already have files imported?
Files imported before TrueSpec verified them have no flag, so a verified release in the search would still replace them. Run this script once with --backfill, then from cron. It sends TorrentClaw only 5-character hash prefixes, never your library. Download it again before each use: it is updated. On libraries with tens of thousands of files the first run takes a few minutes, and a free key (120 requests/min) may pause and retry on its own.
curl -fsSL https://torrentclaw.com/scripts/truespec-arr-sync.sh -o truespec-arr-sync.sh && chmod +x truespec-arr-sync.sh ./truespec-arr-sync.sh --tc-key TORRENTCLAW_KEY --sonarr http://sonarr:8989 --sonarr-key SONARR_KEY \ --radarr http://radarr:7878 --radarr-key RADARR_KEY --backfill --dry-run
The command above is a preview (--dry-run): it shows what would change and writes nothing. If the output looks right, run it again without --dry-run. If it stops with HTTP 401/403, check your TorrentClaw key; it never changes anything when it fails.
Do it in this order
- Delete any old TrueSpec Custom Formats based on regex ([TrueSpec Verified], [TrueSpec-9x], [TrueSpec Mismatch]). Titles no longer carry those tags.
- Run the sync script with --dry-run, check the output, then run it again without --dry-run (keep --backfill).
- Import the Custom Format for your app and set its score.
- Sonarr 4.0.x: restart Sonarr if it re-grabbed anything in between. It caches already-imported hashes until a restart.
